Empty Words of God
You got do gooders soul righters to take you by the hand on the path of enlightenment,
Their enlightenment might be down there, but others stray from that path and take their own hands and walk proud focused uplifted by their decision.
Their decision to be free in humanity, a manatee has every right to live within humanity and be free, why isn’t everybody?
You, my friend, think that you are unencumbered from the burdens I lay upon your shoulders, for you found God and laid your burdens down.
You will sleep well, better than me no doubt, but for when I rise I will be refreshed ready eager to start a new day, finding new ways to help restore respect love & peace in the hearts of passersby.
You will awaken refreshed ready eager to wallow in the tranquility bestowed upon you by those who took the unenlightened path and lit yours for you.
By not participating wholly in humanities best interests focusing your attention on one self, has left a hole in your holy self.
By hearing only the words of God and not the words people, has deafened you and will soon leave you blind.

How true! some (I have before) get so caught up chasing God we trip over ourselves, hurt others and generally make life crappy for others around us to be near. This was an awesome poem. I’m not sure where the manatee came from but I would have used the same word! cool, cool.

the manatee part was inspired by a Denice Frohman ‘Dear Straight People’. I just liked the flow of the rhyme with free.
As you can tell, I do not have any religious beliefs and I cannot understand when that is all some people believe. They let people suffer, (God’s will) the planet suffers, (end of days) so see no need to make things better and truly believe that God will step in and save the ones that deserve to be.
I don’t know where that leaves me or the other non religious but kind, caring, knowledgeable, understanding, forgiving, trustworthy, dedicated believers in the human race & mother Earth, you tell me?
I did not want to offend anyone merely get them to see my view point, I hope that came across. I love the way everyone is different and I find their interests fascinating.

suffering exists. Sadly, a lot of people who do not practice a religion are sometimes more accurate than those who do. If you offend someone, so be it. I’m a recovering offended person who’s currently off that rocker. So, go ahead, just be you, cause I think that is a step in the right direction. No matter what you believe. Peace!
